Can a former musical theater dork face down her middle school demons before the building is razed to the ground?
A girl named Jake grows up outside of Boston, loving
school and singing in choir. But the year she turns 13, everything
changes -- she develops lady-sized breasts, is jettisoned by the cool
girls, and a teacher crosses a line. Years later, she is invited back to
middle school for a reunion before the building is torn down. Are there
lessons to be learned by revisiting the people, places, and past that
shaped you?

A GIRL NAMED JAKE
My first name really is Jake; I'm named after my grandfather. I tell stories that are thought-provoking, funny, and feminist.
Undergrad, I studied at the all-female Smith College, abroad at the Sorbonne, and came to NYC to get my MFA at the Actors Studio Drama School at the New School.
Since 2006, I've run my own production company, Tongue in Cheek Productions (TIC) to produce and create thought-provoking comedies. For TIC, I wear many hats -- performer, producer, director, playwright (not always at the same time -- however I did for the DC run of Shut Up Martha!).
In my downtime, I love to swim, play the piano, and cartoon.
